TAM expands North America footprint with Orlando, Toronto flights

Brazil’s flagship carrier TAM has now expanded its footprint in North America. The airline recently launched new flights to Orlando and Toronto. Media reports said that the airline will be adding nonstop flights to Brasilia from Orlando starting from June 12, 2015. The flights will be operated daily.

The reports said that the launch of flights from Orlando will benefit the travelers from the region as they will now get opportunity to conveniently connect to 41 other destinations in Brazil from the capital city Brasilia. TAM is also conducting nonstop flights services to Sao Paulo from Orlando.

TAM is also introducing its new Toronto route. This will be the airline’s new destination in North America. The airline said that it will be operating nonstop flights to Sao Paulo from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. The flights will be conducted daily via New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The airline said that the service being extended to Toronto via New York JFK will be operational from March 29, 2015. The flights on Toronto-New York JFK-Sao Paulo route will be operated five times per week. With the launch of new flights to Toronto, the key city in Canada will now become its seventh gateway in North America.

The airline will serve the new Orlando-Brasilia and Toronto-New York JFK-Sao Paulo routes with the help of its Boeing 767-300ER aircraft configured with a total of 221 seats – 30 seats in business class and 161 seats in economy class.

TAM, which is now part of LATAM Airlines Group, said that it is going to increase its frequencies on some of its existing routes. The flights between Miami and Brasilia will now become a daily service effective from August 27, 2015. Currently, the airline is operating four times weekly services on this route. The other Brazilian cities being presently served from Miami include Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Manaus, Fortaleza, Horizonte, Belo and Belem.
