TAP Portugal recently launched daily flights services between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). The airline will deploy an Airbus A330 aircraft to serve the new route.
Portugal’s flagship carrier TAP Portugal had launched new flights to Boston only last month in June. The other routes in the United States being currently served by the airline includes Newark Liberty and Miami.
Media reports said that TAP Portugal recently entered into codeshare partnership with JetBlue Airways. The move is aimed at providing Portuguese travelers easy and convenient access to various U.S. destinations. According to reports, the customers booking TAP Portugal flights would now be able to gain seamless access to 34 U.S. destinations through JetBlue Airways' operations at its Boston Logan and New York JFK hubs.
A spokesperson of TAP Portugal while providing details about the new schedule said that the daily flights would depart from New York JFK at 23:30 hours and arrive in Lisbon at 11:30 hours next day. The return flights would make its departure from Lisbon at 17:00 hours and arrive in New York JFK at 20:00 hours.
The customers traveling on Boston Logan and New York JFK routes on the new Airbus A330 aircrafts are now being offered full-flat seats in its new executive class cabin, which has a carrying capacity of 20 passengers.
TAP Portugal, one of the prominent members of Star Alliance, has in the past years significantly increased its weekly nonstop flights services to the U.S. with the launch of its new Airbus A330 aircrafts. The airline is presently offering a total of 30 weekly flights services between the United States and Portugal.
Apart from the United States, TAP Portugal is also extensively serving many African destinations as well. The airline is currently operating its flights services to 13 destinations in Africa from Accra via Lisbon. The prominent destinations being served in Africa include Maputu, Casablanca, Algiers, Dakar, and Sao Tome and Principe.
