Russia’s second largest carrier Transaero Airlines has started offering a new menu designed for its premium customers this summer. The customers traveling in Imperial class or First Class will be offered the summer menu on board their flights. The delectable dishes have been created by Delios Air Service.
The Imperial Class was introduced by the airline in late 2008. This class is presently being offered to customers traveling in Boeing 737-800, Boeing 767, Boeing 777 and Boeing 747-400 aircrafts.
The summer season of 2014 will see the airline offering Imperial Class on its flights to various destinations across the world including Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Toronto, Malaga, Antalya, Cancun, Beijing, Seychelles, Mauritius, Male, Phuket, Paphos, Tel Aviv, Paris, London, Astana, Almaty, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. The Imperial Class is being offered on Malaga, Dalaman and Antalya routes for the first time.
Transaero Airlines has started offering the new summer menu on its domestic and international flights from June this year. The exclusive dishes created for premium customers include cherry dumplings and mandarin nougat, veal chicks with a pastille and pear, smoked starlet, quail croquette, sorrel cream soup and spinach, goat cheese, pear and duck pie salad.
The airline said that the dishes created for the premium customers are quite healthy and light. Apart from Russian cuisines, the dishes will also be heavily influenced by Pan-Asia, French and Italian touches.
Meanwhile, Transaero Airlines announced that Airbus A380s will be included in its fleet in 2015. The interior design of the aircrafts has been completed. The airline indicated that initially four aircrafts will join the fleet. The aircraft will have a capacity to accommodate 652 customers. Each of the aircraft will offer three classes of service – Economy Class, Business Class and Imperial Class.
The Imperial Class comprises of 12 closed suites offering luxurious seats convertible into full-flat beds. Retracting blinds will offer privacy and comfort to the customers. The customers traveling in business class flights will be offered 24 cocoon style seats that can be easily converted to 180-degree flat beds.
The airline has installed mood lighting in both Imperial Class and Business Class cabins. This will put customers at ease with the ambience created by mood lighting during various stages of flight. The aircraft will also be equipped with bars for customers booking flights in both the classes. The airline has also decided to offer special cloakrooms in both the classes.
The Economy Class in Airbus A380 will have 616 seats. The customers traveling in this class will be seated in the lower and upper decks. The seat pitch will be of 31 to 32 inches. The customers traveling in all the three classes will be offered high-speed in-flight Internet as well as state-of-the-art entertainment system.
Olga Pleshakova, CEO of Transaero Airlines, said that the airline will be the first to introduce A380 aircraft in the Russian aviation market. He said that the launch of Airbus A380s will be a significant milestone in the history of Russian aviation. He also hoped that the aircraft will prove to be popular with the customers on domestic as well as international routes.
