Turkey’s national carrier Turkish Airlines recently launched its flights to Miami from Istanbul. With the launch of new flights, Miami has now become the airline’s 12th gateway in the Americas. The roundtrip service between the two destinations started operating from October 25, 2015 and the flights will be conducted seven times per week.
Apart from Miami, other destinations in the Americas being served by Turkish Airlines include San Francisco, Montreal, Boston, Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Toronto, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.
Media reports said that the airline has decided to offer its Miles&Smiles members a special 25 percent reduction in the miles earned for redeeming either upgrades or award tickets. This offer will be made available to Miles&Smiles members only for the first six months of operations on the new Istanbul-Miami route.
Ahmet Olmustur, Chief Marketing Officer of Turkish Airlines, said, “It is a matter of great delight to add Miami as the newest gateway in the United States. The airline feels proud in serving Miami, which is one of the most influential tourism centres in the world today. The launch of the new Istanbul-Miami route will travel to/from the United States more convenient for both leisure and business travellers from the two countries.”
Meanwhile, in another development has built the world’s tallest sand castle in Florida and has tried to break the world record. The impressive castle was built by a team of 12 sculptors at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in Florida. More than 1,800 tons of sand was used to build this amazing castle.
