Turkish Airlines to launch flights to San Francisco next April

Turkish Airlines is on course to expand its global reach. The airline, which is presently serving 264 destinations worldwide, has decided to launch flights to San Francisco in mid April 2015. The airline will also be launching new services to Taipei and other destinations in Latin America and Africa later next year.

Hamdi Topçu, Chairman of Turkish Airlines, while talking to mediapersons said that the recent drop in oil prices is proving to be advantageous for the airline as it will utilize this opportunity to lower prices and provide cheap airfares. This will also help the airline to significantly expand its international network and boost market share.

Topcu said that the airline will be introducing promotional fares aimed at budget travelers. He said that the airline will be able to increase its revenue by nearly 20 percent in 2015.

According to Topçu, the airline is already offering promotional fares on some routes and will be increasing in future. He said that the airline is aggressively trying to offer more competitive airfares in the days to come.  

The airline is also planning to include at least 30 new aircrafts to its fleet every year. About half of the 30 new aircrafts would be wide-bodied for long-haul travel. The new aircrafts will help the airline to achieve growth that it has been looking for.

The primary aim of Turkish Airlines is to establish Istanbul, the capital city of Turkey, as an inter-continental transfer hub for travel to Asia and the United States from Europe.
