Two more hotels added to Kimpton Hotels’ Washington D.C portfolio

Two more hotels will soon be added to Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ Washington D.C. portfolio. The stylish boutique hotel chain recently said that the two new additions will include the Carlyle at Dupont Circle and the Savoy Suites hotel.

Washington D.C.-based real estate developer Foxhall Partners owns both the hotels. The realtor has also partnered with the new Adams Morgan hotel ‘The Line’.

Media reports said that The Carlyle, which is being currently managed by San Francisco-based Joie de Vivre, is scheduled to reopen on April 29, 2015. The newly-renovated 198-room hotel was formerly called the Carlyle Suites. The hotel earlier had a total of 170 rooms with all of them being suites along with kitchenettes. After the renovation, The Carlyle will now have only 56 rooms offering suite experience along with kitchenettes.

The Carlyle will be situated at 1731 New Hampshire Ave. NW. The reports also said that a new 153-seat restaurant ‘The Riggsby’ will also be in the hotel’s premises. The hotel has maintained its heavily art deco style during its renovation while simultaneously adding modern finishes with a bit of 1920s glamour. The Carlyle will also have 3,000-square-feet of event and meeting space and a fitness center as well.

The Savoy Suites is also being renovated and is scheduled to reopen later this summer after its completion. The Savoy Suites, which will be situated in Glover Park at 2505 Wisconsin Ave. NW, might also see its name being changed. The hotel had a pop-up beer garden on its patio last summer, but is now due to get a new dining option during the current renovation.
