United Airlines First Class to Be Named United First Global

United Airlines recently announced that, in future its first class will be called ‘United First Global’. The first class flights cabin will be located in an aircraft with a three-class configuration.

Besides, the business class on the airline’s international routes will be called ‘First and United Business’, and will be located in the jets with a two-class configuration.

Ever since its merger with Continental Airlines in 2011, United Airlines is currently in the process of product approximation. The airline is upgrading its fleet at an estimated $550 million. The fleet conversion is likely to be completed in spring 2013.

The fleet conversion also includes the introduction of an Economy Plus class in dozens of Continental Airlines aircrafts. Besides, flat-bed seats are soon to be installed in 130 aircrafts.

United Airlines is also currently on course to upgrade its food, beverage and entertainment options in its premium cabins to better align with Continental Airlines.

The passengers taking business and first class flights will be offered with as greater variety of food, beverages and entertainment options on long-haul flights from the second quarter of 2012.
