Traveling to the Big Apple from UK has become much easier now with the launch of new flights services. United Airlines recently launched its new direct flights to Newark Liberty from Newcastle. The new service is however being seen as resuming of seasonal flights services after the successful launch in 2015.
The service on the Newcastle-Newark Liberty route has been increased from four to six times per week. The airline will be operating the route until September 6, 2016. The outbound flight will be making departure daily (except Wednesday) at 09:10 hours and arrives at Newark Liberty at 11:55 hours. The return flight will depart from Newark Liberty at 19:30 hours daily (except Tuesday) and reaches Newcastle at 07:30 hours the following day.
Earlier, Delta Air Lines also launched new flights to New York JFK from Edinburgh. The year-round service started operating from May 27, 2016. The flights on Edinburgh-New York JFK route will be operated daily. According to the new schedule, the outbound flights would depart from Edinburgh at 13:10 hours and arrive in New York JFK at 15:43 hours. The return flight will make its departure from New York JFK at 22:45 hours and arrive in Edinburgh at 10:50 hours the following day.
Media reports said that Virgin Atlantic Airways will enter into codeshare partnership with Delta Air Lines on Edinburgh-New York JFK route. The pact will be a part of Virgin Atlantic Airways’ transatlantic agreement with Delta Air Lines. Virgin Atlantic Airways will be initially operating the flights between New York JFK and Edinburgh with the help of a Boeing 757-200ER aircraft, configured with a total of 163 seats. The airline has indicated that it will later on deploy a larger Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, configured with a total of 210 seats, to serve the New York JFK-Edinburgh route starting from June 9 until September 5, 2016.
Currently, American Airlines is also offering seasonal flights services between New York JFK and Edinburgh, with the flight being codeshared by British Airways. The Scottish capital Edinburgh is also being now served by United Airlines from Newark Liberty International Airport round the year.
