United Airlines launch "New Year Bonus" offer for premium fliers

The New Year has brought with itself a bonanza for air travelers, particularly for those traveling in first class or business class cabins. United Airlines is way ahead in the game with the launch of its “New Year Bonus” offer.

The airline has announced it will be doling out award bonus miles to its customers buying tickets for travel in first class and business class. The bonus offer will be applicable for travel through February 28.

Providing details about the offer, the airline said that non-elite United Airlines’ frequent-flier program members will be earning 3,000 bonus miles on long-haul flights of at least 3,000 miles when traveling in the business class cabin on fares booked in the D, C, J, A or F fare classes. However, those booking in Z or P fare classes will not be eligible for “deeply discounted” business class fares.
 
According to the airline, the “long-haul” bonus will also be applicable to the airline’s premium service flights operating between New York JFK and both San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The airline’s non-elite customers when traveling on flights of shorter duration will be earning 250 bonus miles, which will however be subject to the same fare restrictions.

United Airlines further said that its elite frequent-flier program members will be earning even more bonus miles when compared to those offered to non-elite frequent-fliers. The Premier Platinum, Gold and Silver members will be earning double bonus miles on long-haul flights. They will earn 6,000 miles when buying tickets in the D, C, J, A or F fare classes. For flights of shorter duration, they will be able to earn 500 and 250 bonus miles per flight, respectively.
