United Airlines recently inaugurated its new lounges at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The opening of United Club lounges at two airports has been facilitated under the $100 million lounge transformation program of the airline.
The airline’s lounges at other airports in the United States would also undergo significant renovation and updating in 2016. These include New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport, Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Guam’s Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport.
The United Club lounge, which can be accessed by first and business class fliers, is spread in an area of nearly 460 square meters. It is located on the mezzanine level between gates 11 and 12 at Concourse T. The lounge has a capacity to accommodate more than 100 passengers.
However, the United Club lounge at San Francisco International Airport spanning in an area of 550 square meters can accommodate 130 passengers. It is situated in the newly renovated Terminal 3 east Concourse. Apart from the newly opened lounge, the airport has two other United Club lounges in Terminal 3’s Concourse F and International Terminal G.
Jimmy Samartzis, United Airlines’ Vice President of Food Services and United Clubs, said: “An investment of over $100 million is being made in various United Club locations over the next few years. The new lounges are beautifully designed and promise the customers perfect setting for relaxation, refreshing and recharge prior to boarding their flights. The customers indeed deserve the very best travel experience and the airline is fully committed to this.”
