United Airlines new menu in transpacific economy class June 1

United Airlines recently announced it will start offering new in-flight menu to its economy class customers traveling on select international routes. The airline said that the new menu to be introduced from June 1, 2015 will be prominently featuring larger portions and complimentary wine and beer.

A spokesperson of United Airlines said that the new menu will be offered to the economy class customers traveling on transpacific and transatlantic routes, and also on flights to Chile, Brazil and Argentina from the United States.

According to the airline, the customers traveling in the airline’s economy class cabins will be provided a 3-course meal starting with a drink and snack of Kiri cheese spread and crackers, baked whole-grain bruschetta chips or cheese and crackers. This will soon be followed by a main course to be served along with artisan bread and salads. After the main course, the customers will be treated to a dessert such as mousse, ice cream, sorbet or gelato. Apart from the multi-course meal service, the airline will also be a free bottle of water and complimentary alcoholic drinks.
 
The economy class customers will also have the option to purchase “premium snacks” being sold through the “Choice Menu Snack Shop”, which is presently available on United Airlines’ flights to North and Central America that are scheduled for more than two hours. This facility is also available to those traveling on Honolulu-Guam route, and also on flights to/from northern South America.

Sandra Pineau-Boddison, United Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Customers, said, “By making the required new in-flight menu changes effective from June 1, the airline wants to provide enhanced on-board experience to the customers traveling in economy class on many the intercontinental routes, which is expected from a global airline like United Airlines.”
