United Airlines premium economy seats on New York-Istanbul flights

United Airlines recently announced that it will be launching daily, nonstop flights to Turkey’s capital Istanbul from its New York hub, Newark Liberty International Airport, starting from July 1, 2012. The introduction of new route is however subject to government approval.

The airline in a statement said that Istanbul will be its 76th international destination to be served from New York/Newark. Besides, Istanbul will be the 37th city in United Airline’s trans-Atlantic route network.

Initially, the airline will deploy a three-cabin Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 183 seats to operate flights on New York-Istanbul route. Besides 67 Economy Plus or premium economy seats with added legroom, the aircraft will also have six seats in first class or United Global First, 26 seats in business class or United BusinessFirst and 151 seats in United Economy class.

However, the airline will operate the route with two-cabin Boeing 767-300 aircraft configured with 214 seats effective August 28, 2012. The aircraft will have 30 seats in BusinessFirst and 184 seats in Economy, including 46 Economy Plus seats.
