United Airlines receives its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner

United Airlines is all set to operate Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights to domestic destinations with the United States as well as on international routes.

United Airlines recently announced it has now become the proud owner of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The airline said that it has also become the first carrier in the U.S. to receive Boeing’s newest aircraft, which has been delivered at its hub in Houston.

United Airlines has placed an order of 50 aircrafts with Boeing, and said that it is hoping to receive five aircrafts this year.
Boeing 787 aircrafts were first ordered by Continental Airlines in 2004. The airline later on merged with United Airlines in 2010, resulting in the formation of United Continental Holdings Inc.

United Airlines in a statement said that its first commercial flight utilizing Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will start between Houston and Chicago from November 4, 2012. The airline also plans to operate Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights on international routes in December this year.
