United Airlines SFO-Shanghai B787-9 service delayed till Sept 1

United Airlines recently said that it is postponing its forthcoming daily flights to Shanghai from San Francisco to be operated with the help of a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The flights have been postponed until early July this year.

Media reports said that United Airlines had earlier planned to serve the two destinations with additional flights in early May. However, the flights UA891 and UA892 on Shanghai-San Francisco route have been delayed by two months till July 2, 2015. The delay has been attributed to slot issues as Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG).

The reports said that the B787-9 Dreamliner service which was scheduled to start from July has been postponed by two months and is expected to be launched from September 1, 2015. While providing the flight details, the reports stated that the outbound flight UA891 will be departing from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) at 15:05 hours and arrive at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 19:00 hours next day. The return flight UA890 will make its departure from Shanghai at 21:00 hours and arrive in San Francisco at 18:00 hours the same day.

According to the reports, the additional flights will be complementing United Airlines'' flights UA857 and UA858 being currently operated between San Francisco and Shanghai with the help of a Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

Meanwhile, United Airlines has announced it will be launching seasonal flights services on two new routes next summer. The airline''s new seasonal services will be launched on Chicago-Dublin and Newark Liberty-Venice routes. The airline also indicated that it will also start operating a second daily service between Paris and Washington D.C. as well. The flights on Newark Liberty-Venice route started from June 4 and continue through September 23, while Chiicago O''Hare-Dublin route will be served until August 17.
