United Airlines to add more capacity for each flight

United Airlines recently announced it will be adding more capacity on each of its flights. The airline revealed that it has started making smaller seats on its aircrafts so that it will be able to increase the capacity on all its flights.

The airline in a statement said that the smaller seats are being refitted on its Economy Class in order to accommodate even more passengers than before.

According to the airline, a German company named Recaro has been hired to design the seats. The company will be designing thinner seats enabling the carrier to add an extra row on each of its aircraft.

Providing details about the new seat design, United Airlines said that the new seats would be less bulky and have slimmer cushioning, which will be made from a polyester material. Earlier, the traditional seats were of the foam cushioning. The airline stated that the newly designed seats would give a more ergonomic feel and would be quite durable.

The new seats would be installed on the narrow-bodied Airbus aircraft fleet next year. The installation is likely to continue until 2014.
