United Airlines to roll out upgrade functions to intimate frequent fliers about complimentary upgrade

United Airlines recently announced its frequent fliers will now come to know about complimentary upgrade to first class or business class flights as soon as they book.

The airline in a statement said that it will be rolling out a function on its website by the end of September this year enabling frequent fliers to know beforehand whether they are in queue for a complimentary upgrade to first class or business class the moment they book their flights.

Presently, the airline’s customers are only able to know the status of the complimentary upgrade and see the wait list online or via United Airline’s smartphone app up to 24 hours prior to the departure of the flight.
  
The airline’s MileagePlus frequent flier program members are required to call a reservation agent for finding out whether they are eligible for a free upgrade before their flight departs.

United Airlines has now said that in the coming weeks the modified function will become available on its website for the life cycle of a flight number.
