The newly launched United Polaris business class seat is ready to catch customer’s fancy. The launch has nevertheless come as a great boon for United Airlines as it provides opportunity to match or even beat its rival Delta Air Lines in terms of improving the quality and providing the best international business class service.
A spokesperson of United Airlines said that the United Polaris business class seats would be forward-facing and offer direct aisle access to premium customers. The custom-designed seats would be “suite-like pods” promising a luxurious experience. Each seat would also be converted into a 78-inch fully flat bed.

The premium customers can look forward to various amenities such as more storage space than what is being currently offered in the airline’s business class cabins on other aircrafts, and also more work space. United Airlines has also kept the customer’s sleep, comfort and relaxation as top priority. The airline had undertaken a survey seeking to know business class fliers views on what they liked or loved the most. Almost all of them were unanimous on a single fact that they accorded top priority to sleep on long-haul flights. The airline’s main focus was therefore on customer’s sleep and the seats were designed as such so that the customers could get to sleep better. The newly designed business class seats are therefore larger and offer greater privacy than before. Apart from this, United Airlines has also partnered with luxury chain Saks Fifth Avenue, and would be offering upgraded bedding.
United Airlines has completely upgraded its business class offerings to attract premium customers in a big way. The in-flight menu has been redesigned. New business class lounges are also coming up at nine major airports across the world. The lounges are being equipped with an upscale restaurant, private daybeds and showers.
According to United Airlines, the new United Polaris business class seats would be launched on its first Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in December 2016. The new seats would also be installed on Boeing 787-10 and Airbus A350-1000 fleets, which are scheduled to be deployed for flight operations in 2018.
