United Resumes Seasonal Flights on Shannon-Chicago Route

United Airlines recently resumed its seasonal flights between Shannon and its hub at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. In response to customer demand this seasonal summer service will operate until September 15, 2014.

This year this seasonal service will be functional for a longer time as compared to its last leg. Shannon-Chicago service will have a varied schedule depending upon dates i.e. it will operate five times a week from May 23 to June 16 and from August 19 to September 1; once daily from June 17 to August 18 and four times a week from September 2 to September 15.

169-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft will operate this route. Three classifications of seats namely 16 flat-bed seats in United BusinessFirst, 45 seats in Economy Plus with additional personal space and legroom and 108 seats in United Economy are available on this route. Flights will leave Chicago at 1825 hours and arrive in Shannon at 0735 hours the next day. Return flight will leave Shannon at 1100 hours and arrive in Chicago at 1315 hours.

Head of Aviation Development at Shannon Airport, Declan Power said, flights to and from Chicago have increased to a total of 90 this year clearly indicating that Shannon-Chicago route has proved to be a success, last year. We are extremely happy that United has not only shown confidence in us but has also increased its connectivity here. Chicago route will yet again prove to be the major contributor to the increasing number of American travelers to Ireland.

United’s Sales Manager for Ireland, Yvonne Muldoon said we are pleased to resume our services on Chicago-Shannon Route. Going by the success of this route we have decided to extend our services this year. With this we will be able to offer our Irish travelers with more tractability and alternative, to not just Chicago but to more than 300 destinations across the USA.
