United sponsors Tribeca Film Festival, to show exclusive films

United Airlines recently announced it is sponsoring the Tribeca Film Festival. The sponsorship will allow the airline to show exclusive Tribeca Film Festival-related content to its customers on board the flights. Apart from in-flight entertainment options, the customers will also get opportunity to take part in the special private screening at the 13th annual Tribeca Film Festival to be held on April 24, 2014 in Lower Manhattan.

United Airlines conducts flight operations out of its main hub at New York and is the largest airline in the region. The airline provides more seats and flights from New York region to various destinations worldwide than any other airline.

A spokesperson of the airline said that United Airlines has now become the official airline of 2014 Tribeca Film Festival. This will allow the airline to offer special Tribeca-curated in-flight content to its customers, which will include documentaries, independent feature films, short films and other related content. According to the airline, the customers will be able to choose a wide range of Tribeca-selected in-flight entertainment offerings on their seatback screens and live television.

United Airline is introducing free personal device entertainment to its customers on its aircrafts comprising Bowing 777, Boeing 757, Boeing 747, Airbus A319 and Airbus A320. The airline will offer Tribeca-related entertainment content on these devices as well. Through this new service, the customers will be able to access the content on board their flights via their Wi-Fi enabled mobile devices and laptop computers.

The airline also said that United MileagePlus members will also be able to redeem their award miles to get tickets for attending the Tribeca Film Festival and invitation-only special screening.
