United Unveils its Business Class Lounges at London Heathrow

Chicago based United Airlines has finally unveiled its two lounges at London Heathrow Terminal 2, also known as The Queen’s Terminal. Both United Club and United Global First Lounge will be open for passengers from June 4, 2014.

Both the lounges occupy a total area of 2,043 squares meter and are situated on the satellite concourse near the airline's gates at terminal 2. Opulent interiors, floor-to-roof windows, vintage artwork, complimentary food and beverage, unlimited Wi-Fi are just some of the many features of both these lounges.

United Global First Lounge is a tribute to London's famous clock tower, Big Ben. A near replica of the same can be found adorned as a centerpiece in the tea lounge section. This is the most striking feature of this lounge. Other prominent features adorned here include private phone booths, a wine room, private area with couches and privacy drapes. Here passengers will have an option of dining prior to their flight and can choose from an à-la-carte menu. Passengers flying First Class on other Star Alliance carriers and having a same-day boarding-pass can access this lounge.

United Club Lounge is for United Club members and passengers flying business class on United Airlines. This lounge has an open layout and can accommodate 280 passengers at one time. It has a full service bar with a capacity of 25 passengers, two buffets zones, seven private phone booths and a TV lounge.

Just next to the United Club and United Global First Lounge are eight shower suites, which can be accessed by passengers using either of the lounges. These shower suites offer valet service with free garment pressing & steaming and complimentary toiletries.
