Vacation Express begins seasonal nonstop Bahamas-RDU flight

Vacation Express recently announced the launch of its nonstop seasonal flights between the Bahamas and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). The flights started operations from August 11 and will continue until October 26, 2014.

The airline said that North Carolinians are going to benefit with the launch of the temporary service. The travelers from North Carolina are being offered cheap airfares and other incentives for travel on the route. Vacation Express also said that similar deals are also available for those planning to book flights from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to Cancun.

While on the one hand Vacation Express has launched its seasonal flights services between Raleigh-Durham and the Bahamas, another U.S. carrier is getting ready to stop flights between RDU and Salt Lake City.

Delta Air Lines has indicated that it will permanently discontinue its nonstop flights to Salt Lake City currently being operated from Raleigh-Durham International Airport effective from November 1, 2014. The airline had been operating flight on the route for nearly one year.

A spokesperson of Delta Air Lines said that despite the nonstop flights are being discontinued on RDU-Salt Lake City route, the customers from RDU shouldn’t get perturbed as they will still be able to connect to the West Coast via Los Angeles, where the airline will be increasing its frequencies to 10 weekly flights from the existing seven from November this year.

According to Delta Air Lines, its network is continuously evaluated and ensured that the route is profitable and efficiently meets the capacity demand.

The airline said that flights to Salt Lake City were proving to be unprofitable, even though Raleigh-Durham market largely continued to perform exceedingly well. In fact, Salt Lake City was an exception.

Delta Air Lines also disclosed that it will continue to expand operations from Raleigh-Durham International Airport and will be conducting flights to Cleveland and Nassau from RDU.
