Vampire Lore and San Francisco City

Twilight readers taking advantage of cheap flight deals can unite together in San Francisco every Friday and Saturday night for a little vampire lore and Nob Hill History with San Francisco’s Vampire Tours. Reservations are not required, but they are suggested since spots on the tour go fast.

About the Tour

Nob Hill has long been known as the home to the rich and famous of San Francisco for centuries. Rich railroad barons that came over from England built their homes and mansions on top of the hill and today some of San Francisco’s most upscale homes and even hotels reside in those very locations. Travelers coming in on cheap international flights make a point to visit and sometimes even stay, in this historical part of San Francisco.

What many travelers coming in on flights to San Francisco don’t know, however, is that Nob Hill is more than just the home to the rich and famous - it is also home to vampire legends and lore. Hosted by characters and based on a playwright by Kitty Burns, the tour takes travelers through areas of Nob Hill to a tune of fiction and history.

The tour is not recommended for travelers just getting off cheap flights to San Francisco, because there is a lot of walking involved. The tour itself starts at California Street and Taylor Street, where tourists will meet up with one of the characters from the playwright, Mina -- a 127 year old vampire. Stops are made at the Nob Hill Café, Huntington Park, Pacific Union Club and Mark Hopkins hotels for stories about vampires and legends of vampires still present underground these famous landmarks.

Tourists coming in on cheap domestic flights can select from tours Friday or Saturday night, each of which starts at 8:00pm. Tour members meet up with Mina, their tour guide, on California and Taylor Street’s corner and can expect up to two hours for the tours duration.

The best time to take advantage of not only cheap flight deals, but also the vampire tour is in spring and fall. The weather is more favorable, the fog is less noticeable and night time might be cool, but it is bearable. Winter months still host the tour; however tourists will have to grit their teeth through chilling winds, rainfall and excessive fog. If attempting to take the tour for Halloween, plan on booking a reservation at least a year in advance.
