Virgin America returns to Palm Spring

Virgin America has declared to resume its direct flight on Palm Springs – San Francisco and Palm Springs - New York route. Services will resume in next season.

The number of passengers visiting the Palm Spring International Airport has increased exponentially from 2013. There was a growth of 9.3 percent this year compared to last year. This attracted Virgin America to resume its flights to Palm Springs. The airline declared that from next season there will be direct fights to New York and San Francisco from Palm Springs.

Steve Pougnet, Mayor of Palm Springs, said that the popularity of the city’s modern Airline Marketing Incentive Program has lead to the initiation of this service. The working together of Palm Spring and the airlines has made it reach its height. The management identified the increase in passenger demand throughout the world, who were willing to visit Palm Springs. Owing to this tremendous demand the city is committed to provide utmost level of service to visitors. He further said that we will continue to invest money to make the growth of city airport extraordinary.

Tom Nolan, Executive Director of WestJet, said due to the increasing demand of visitors our airline has decided to increase the seat capacity to double digit on routes to Vancouver and Calgary from Palm Springs, valid till October this year. Even Delta Airlines is adding its flight service from Seattle to Palm Springs in addition to its offerings made from Minneapolis and Salt Lake City.

Pougnet further said that Palm Spring is undergoing historic renaissance and the airlines are recognize the same. Palm Spring is a premiere resort destination like no other place and visitors can stay, play and enjoy in this West Coast city at their own pace.
