Virgin America to commence flights from Dallas to five cities

Virgin America is keen on launching flights from Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) to several destinations across the United States. The San Francisco based airline is looking forward to expanding its network within the country and hence has plans to open new avenues to a few more cities in the country.

Established in the year 2004, the airline has been offering plane tickets to customers across the country since August 8, 2007. At present, it aims to commence service from the Texas City to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

Apart from launching new flights to these destinations, it also intends to increase the frequency of service on existing routes to Los Angeles and San Francisco from here. The airline is currently trying hard to secure two gates at Dallas Love Field Airport, which will boost its expansion prospects a great deal. The airline is aiming to tap business travelers flying to and from the city to several gateways within the country.

If all goes well, the airline will begin service from October 2014. It is set to use the services of Airbus A320 aircrafts on these routes. These planes will comprise seating capacity across three classes and will contain amenities like seat back touch-screen monitors, in-seat power points, and Wi-Fi among other facilities. As per the schedule, it will operate four round-trip flights to La Guardia in New York and Ronald Reagan in Washington. On the other hand, it will commence three round-trip services to Los Angeles and San Francisco. Its service to Chicago will debut early 2015.
