Virgin Atlantic Airways rolls out new business class seats

Virgin Atlantic Airways recently unveiled its new business class seats, which turns into the longest bed in its class.

The airline in a statement said that the 7-foot, 3-inch bed is part of a $162 million Upper Class cabin overhaul. The revamp of seats in the airline’s business class took four-and-a-half years.

The features of the newly-revamped Upper Class cabin on business class flights, include a brand new bar (longest in the sky stretching 8 feet and accommodating 8 passengers), and Swarovski curtains with more than 1,000 crystals.

The Upper Class cabin is also equipped with new cabin mood lighting with 8 different color schemes. The lighting has been designed in such a way that it helps passengers relax, fall asleep and adjust to time zones.

The business class seats also have a 12.1-inch touchscreen monitor with a touchscreen handset. Passengers on board business class flights are also offered that facilities to connect their smartphone, USB stick or tablet to the system a watch, read or listen to their own content. They also have the facility to charge their devices.

Virgin Atlantic Airways introduced the first aircraft with the newly-revamped Upper Class cabin on April 21, 2012. The airline is planning to roll out new business class seats on other aircrafts throughout 2012.
