Virgin Atlantic and Delta benefit through smart partnership

These days Virgin Atlantic Airways and Delta Air Lines are finding themselves in an advantageous position. The two airlines recently entered into a partnership and benefiting each other''s passengers. Media reports said that the customers of both the airlines are gaining convenient access to various cities within the United States more than ever before through their association.

Reuben Arnold, Virgin Atlantic Airways'' Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Customer Experience, while addressing mediapersons during the launch of new flights to Detroit this June said that Virgin Atlantic Airways has now become the only British carrier to offer direct flights to Detroit from London and is being well-received by the travelers.

Detroit is also presently a major hub for Delta Air Lines as well. The partnership will now see customers of Virgin Attlantic Airways making extensive use of Delta Air Lines' services onward out of Detroit Metropolitan airport for connecting to major U.S. cities such as Nashville, Salt Lake City, Indianapolis, St. Louis and New Orleans.

Both, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Delta Air Lines, have termed their association as a “smarter partnership”. The customers of the two airlines are benefiting from a more seamless experience such as co-location at London Heathrow Terminal 3. This is also benefiting premium customers, particularly those who want to take flights to New York JFK. The biggest advantage for them is that if they somehow miss one flight then they can always get another flight after one-and-half-an-hour from the same terminal.

Meanwhile, Arnold said that Virgin Atlantic Airways is operating five Dreamliner flights to London Heathrow, Newark Liberty, Delhi, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Boston. The airline is planning to own a fleet of a total of 17 Dreamliners with an option for three more.
