Virgin Atlantic opens new business lounge at New York JFK

Virgin Atlantic recently opened its new business lounge at the New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport.

The new ‘Upper Class’ clubhouse is specifically aimed at passengers taking first and business class flights from New York JFK.

The 10,000 square foot clubhouse available to upper class guests, more than doubles the space of the existing clubhouse.

Virgin Atlantic in a statement said that the $7 million clubhouse is designed Slade Architecture and is themed as “Understatedly Uptown, Unmistakably New York”. The newly-built lounge also features a cloud shaped cocktail bar, curving ‘wall’ of stainless steel rods and walnut fins.

The airline further said that the clubhouse will also feature a spacious lounge with views of the runway, an internet bar, meeting spaces, concierge services, a relaxation area with private space, and sleep suites.

Besides, there will also be a new Clubhouse Spa offering the only hair service available at any business class lounge in the US.

The passengers booking first and business class tickets will also be offered a selection of a la carte meals, wine and dessert at the formal dining in the brassiere area. The menu will feature pork sliders, caramelized apples, tin baked steak and Brooklyn Ale pie. 

Virgin Atlantic currently operates flights three times daily to and from New York JFK International Airport.
