Virgin Atlantic will fly B787-9 to America

Virgin Atlantic is planning to operate the new Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner between London Heathrow and Boston from October 28, 2014. The service on this route will operate six times a week.

Virgin Atlantic will take the delivery of its new Dreamliner in late September. The carrier will operate this Dreamliner named birthday girl to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its Chicago-Milan Route. With this it will become the first European carrier to offer services on a Boeing 787-9, which is a bigger and better version of the current Dreamliner in service.

The new Dreamliner will bring forth environmental and commercial gains. The aircraft will be 21 percent more economical on fuel consumption and will have 60 percent reduced noise level. This comparison is based on the similar sized aircraft.

The Boeing B787-9 aircraft will have 264 seats configured in three classes. There will be 31 business class, 35 premium economy, and 198 economy seats. The aircraft has new version of business class, fresh premium economy class, and best economy seat. The economy class has a social space named the wander wall. The aircraft will have new in-flight entertainment system and Wi-Fi access.

Craig Kreeger, the chief executive of Virgin Atlantic, said we are very excited to greet this aircraft to our fleet. We feel proud by serving our customers round the globe for 30 years. He further stated that it was on June 22 1984 that we first operated flights to New York Newark from London Gatwick. This new state-of-the-art aircraft will bring revolution in our airline with its innovative design and features for our passengers to take benefit of.

The Boeing 787-9 aircraft will form 40 percent of our fleet by 2017 and to over 50 percent by 2018. This showcases our dedication to the Dreamliner as the most important attraction to our future fleet. We hope to serve our travelers with utmost service in the upcoming 30 years.

After the launch of Dreamliner to Boston, Virgin is planning to deploy this aircraft to other major routes from London to US East Coast. It will offer its Dreamliner service to Washington, New York JFK, and Newark from London Heathrow. After receiving the delivery of its second Dreamliner, it will operate Heathrow-Washington service by December this year. It further announced offering five weekly flights on Heathrow-Newark route from January 2015 and once daily service on Heathrow-JFK route from February 2015.

Tickets for this new Dreamliner service are available for purchase on June 26 and all passengers interested in exploring` and experiencing  this state of the art aircraft must book their tickets soon, so that they can become a part of its maiden flight.
