Virgin Australia announces changes to Los Angeles service

Virgin Australia announced recently that it will add more business class flights on Brisbane - Los Angeles route. It will boost service to once daily from four times weekly, starting October 26, 2014.

Succeeding this modification, trans-Pacific joint venture between Delta Air Lines and Virgin Australia will provide one daily flight between Brisbane and Los Angeles and two flights daily between Sydney and Los Angeles.

The additional Brisbane-Los Angeles service will be operated using Boeing 777 aircraft’s offering three-seat classification. The business class passengers will be able to enjoy deluxe fully-flat bed seats, state of the art services, premium food & beverages and seatback in-flight entertainment. Present seat configuration of 2-3-2 in business class will also be renovated, providing direct aisle access on all seats.

To increase the service on Brisbane route, the airline has decided to axe its service on Melbourne – Los Angeles route. Last flight on this route will operate on October 25, 2014. There will also be a small alteration in the departure time of its Sydney service. Passengers will be able to arrive a little early in Los Angeles, creating convenience in the schedules business class passengers.

Judith Crompton, COO of Virgin Australia, said that the changes have been announced after making a thorough market analysis. It is essential to have the right frequency for business and leisure travelers and shifting to daily flights from Brisbane will help us to provide more travel options to and from Queensland.

Airport Corporation of Brisbane highly welcomed Virgin Australia’s decision to add flights from Queensland City, as it will provide a boost to the seating capacity by 2166 a week on this route.
