Virgin Australia introduces business class seats on Melbourne domestic routes

Virgin Australia recently announced that it is introducing business class seats on its Melbourne domestic routes. The airline said that 27 business class seats have been fitted having 62-inch seat pitch.

The airline will be deploying its international-grade Airbus A330 aircraft on the Melbourne-Perth route to be operated from May 14, 2012. The aircraft will have a total capacity of 278 seats, including 27 business class seats. According to the airline, with the introduction of A330 aircraft on the route, it will be adding 20,000 additional seats per year between the two cities.

Besides spacious seats with enough legroom, the passengers taking business class flights to Perth from Melbourne will be offered amenity kits and lounge access, among other facilities.

Virgin Australia has recently launched its business class seats on more than 50 of its 69 domestic Boeing 737s. The airline also said that from February this year its Embraer 190s aircraft will start operating with a business class offering.
