Virgin Australia offering special deals to Qantas Airways business class flyers

Virgin Australia recently announced it will continue to offer special flight deals to keep Qantas Airways frequent flyers into its fold.
The airline had last year launched an aggressive status match campaign to woo a major chunk of Qantas Airways’ frequent flyers by bringing its own Velocity rewards scheme.

To keep its status match campaign afloat and attract frequent flyers of its rival Qantas Airways, the Platinum, Gold and Silver members of Velocity rewards scheme whose review date is in September and who have not yet earned sufficient status credits in order to keep their current membership level are now being promised by the airline that they can still re-qualify for this when they book at least one return business class flight.
 
The airline in a statement said that for officially retaining Velocity Platinum membership, the customers are required to earn 800 Status Credits with at least 8 Virgin Australia flights over a period of 12 months.

A single Virgin Australia return business class tickets between Sydney and Melbourne helps earn only 80 status credits. Members holding Velocity Platinum will now be required to book only a single return business class flight to retain its membership for another year. The customers should take the advantage of this special offer by booking and flying with Virgin Australia between July 15 and August 17, 2012.
