Virgin Australia to upgrade business class seats on flights to Sunshine Coast

Virgin Australia recently announced it will be upgrading selected flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Sunshine Coast Airport starting from May 30, 2012. The upgraded flights will include business class seats and service along with priority check-in and boarding.

The airline has already put up business class tickets on sale at quite attractive rates with one-way fares at $399 from Sydney and $499 from Melbourne.

Virgin Australia in a statement said that year-round business class fares to Sydney will start as low as $489 one-way, while for Melbourne it will start from $579.

The airline also disclosed that it will be opening its new Gold Coast Airport lounge on May 30, 2012. According to Virgin Australia, the Gold Coast lounge will seat around 135 travelers in 675 square meters of space. The Gold Coast lounge will be slightly smaller than the one in Brisbane.
