Wellness amenities becoming a trend at luxury hotels

New-age amenities are fast being adopted by hotels worldwide. You will find hotels equipped with mini bars and vending machines. But, do you know that hotels now also want you to remain fit and healthier. Hoteliers and realtors are now creating in-room sanctuaries aimed at providing convenience to the guests and sparing them hassle of trudging to the fitness room and spa.

Luxury hotels have reported that wellness amenities continue to remain in great demand, though guests are required to pay a premium price for availing this amenity. The desire to remain fit is fast catching up with most Americans. A study recently said that the wellness trend is gradually catching up with the American travelers as they also want their peace of mind. They are even ready to spend big and don’t mind staying in luxury hotels. Presently, many affordably-priced hotels don’t provide their guests facilities of deep tissue massages or steam rooms.

The trend can be gauged from the fact that an affordable wellness program called “Stay Well” offered by a wellness company Delos is being fast adopted by major branded hotels in the United States for upgrading hotel and travel experience of their guests. The wellness program prominently features in-room sensations for energizing the spirit, rejuvenating the mind and revitalizing the body. 

Leading hotel chains such as Marriott International and MGM Resorts have decided to take good care of their guests while on the road by offering them a more integrated and balanced life. Stay Well program is likely to be adopted by Ingels-designed proposed 800-room Bjarke hotel, which will be located adjacent to the revamped Miami Beach Convention Center after a final approval in March this year. The Stay Well rooms will be equipped with Vitamin C-infused showers for neutralizing chlorine, dawn simulators, water filtration, air purifiers, aromatherapy scents, circadian rhythm lighting, and non-toxic, comfy natural foam mattresses – all these have been specifically designed for rejuvenating and providing relaxation to weary business and leisure travelers.
