WestJet Airline adds new routes to its schedule

WestJet Airline, Canada’s second largest airline announced the addition of four new non-stop routes to its schedule. The budget carrier said it was adding four non-stop routes, two new year-round routes and rising frequency on 29 of its current routes as a part of its 2013-2014 winter calendar.

Passengers can book cheap airfares with WestJet and travel to their destinations in Manzanillo and Ixtapa, Mexico, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, Varadero, Cuba and Hewanorra, St. Lucia more often than before through this winter.

Chris Avery, WestJet’s Vice-President, Network Planning, Alliances and Corporate Development said the addition of new routes to the airlines itinerary signals the popularity of numerous domestic and international destinations served by the airline. He further added that it is due to the growing demand that they add to increase the frequency of their flights.

The airline will increase its service to various cities in the Unites States beginning October 27, 2013. It will now operate more flights between Calgary and Phoenix, Calgary and San Diego, Calgary and Orlando and Kelowna to Phoenix. The airline will also add a new route between Calgary and Miami.

WestJet is headquartered close to the Calgary International Airport, which is also its largest hub. However, in terms of daily departures Toronto Pearson International Airport serves as the airlines main hub.
