WestJet Airlines reports improved passenger demand in August 2011

WestJet Airlines recently announced its operational results for August 2011 and expressed optimism with the positive outcome.

The airline disclosed that on a robust passenger demand its flights ran full capacity in August this year as compared to the same month in 2010.

Announcing its results, WestJet Airlines said that its load factor hit 83.3% on strong passenger demand. The airline elaborated and said that the average amount of seats filled on its flights or load factor increased 1.1% as compared to the previous year. The airline further said that its 7.7% traffic growth in fact outpaced its capacity increases of 6.2% y-o-y in August. An elated WestJet Airlines official said that it carried 1.49 million passengers during August this year, which was its highest monthly total ever.
