WestJet Offers Seasonal Flights to Prince George and New York

Passengers looking to fly directly from Calgary to Prince George and New York have a reason to rejoice. As WestJet, Canada's popular low-cost carrier has launched seasonal nonstop service to both the destinations. The airline will offer daily flights to both Prince George, BC and John F. Kennedy International Airport from Calgary International Airport.

Both the routes launched on April 27, 2014 will be operated until October 25 this year. WestJet will offer the service of a 119-seat Boeing 737-600 to both Prince George and New York.

John Weatherill, Company director, Network and Schedule Planning said, New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport is one the busiest airports in the United States, catering to millions of international travelers every year. JFK Airport is hub to two of our alliance partners, Delta Airlines and American Airlines. He further said that with our WestJet code on 17 flights operating out of John F. Kennedy International Airport, this daily seasonal service between Calgary and JFK, will offer passengers seamless connectivity and remarkable guest experience to more cities globally. This service will even offer smoother access to Manhattan via AirTrain JFK.

On Calgary-Prince George route, WestJet will face stiff competition from Central Mountain Air, a regional airline of Canada. Central Mountain Air at present offers six flights every week between the two cities. John Weatherill said, we first started flying to Prince George in 1999. We are thankful to the people of North British Columbia for their unending support and faith, which they have shown in us for the last 15 years. Due to the surging demand we are offering this additional seasonal service enabling passengers to take an early morning flight and reach Calgary.

Flights will leave Calgary at 1035 hours and reach JFK at 1700 hours. Return flight will leave JFK at 1755 hours and arrive in Calgary at 2110 hours. As far as Calgary-Prince George route is concerned, flights will leave Prince George at 0600 hours and arrive in Calgary at 0827 hours. Return flight will leave from Calgary at 2200 hours and arrive in Prince George at 2227 hours.
