World’s first facility dedicated to A380 comes up in Dubai

Concourse 3, the world’s first facility dedicated to the super-jumbos Airbus A380 aircrafts is coming up at Dubai International Airport.

Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum recently visited the new Emirates Airline’s Airbus A380 Concourse 3.

A spokesperson of Emirates Airline said that the facility would welcome its first flight at Dubai International Airport in January 2013.

Khalifa Al Zafeen, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Aviation City, while briefing the Ruler of Dubai, Crown Prince and other dignitaries, said that the newly-built Conscourse 3 is 650 metres long and 90 metres wide with 11 storeys. Four storeys are underground. The facility has automated passenger transport points for departures and arrivals.

According to Al Zafeen, the passengers booking first class tickets or traveling in business class would be able to enjoy various facilities at the exclusive first class and business class lounges.
 
Apart from this, Concourse 3 also has four- and five-star hotels and a mall with 40 counters to follow flights and airlines. An internal metro dedicated to Emirates Airlines flights would also be carrying passengers to and from Terminal 3.
