WOW Air has decided to bring significant changes to its pricing and seating system. The airline recently announced it will be offering seats that would styled like the one offered in business class cabins to customers by other airlines. The premium class offerings include priority boarding and enhanced allowance for baggage.
Media reports said that Iceland's leading low-cost carrier will be launching a separate business class cabin comprising of “Big Seats” starting from June 1, 2017. An array of tiered travel bundles would be available for booking the Big Seats, which will be initially launched on the Airbus A330 aircraft. The seat pitch in new business class cabin would be of 37 inch, and would be offered to the customers on flights between the US West Coast and Iceland.
According to the reports, for those traveling in economy class the seat pitch will be of 30 inch. The airline will be installing the larger XXL seats with 35-37 seat pitch on its Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircrafts. The customers will also have the option to book XL seats with 32-34 inch seat pitch. The customers will now have three bundle options at their disposal for upgrading from the usual standard service.
The three bundle options include WOW Biz, WOW Plus and WOW Basic. The fare offered in WOW Biz bundle is inclusive of a business class seat, one checked bag, one carry-on bag, a laptop bag or handbag, and seat cancellation and reservation protection. Apart from these, the package will also include a complimentary drink and hot meal, and priority boarding. The customers can book WOW Biz fare starting from March 1, 2017.
The economy seats are offered in WOW Plus and WOW Basic packages. Both are available for a different price. The WOW Plus package comes along with a checked bag, a carry-on bag, a laptop bag or handbag, and cancellation protection. The WOW Basic will however allow the customers to carry along with them only a computer bag or a small backpack that fits under the seat in front.
