Virgin America wins award for Best Overall Passenger Experience

Virgin America has been acknowledged as the best carrier in the United States for providing an excellent flying experience to its customers. Virgin America was recently recognized for “Best Overall Passenger Experience” at the Passenger Choice Awards 2013. The award was presented to the airline at a glittering ceremony held in Anaheim, California.

Apart from the “Best Overall Passenger Experience” award, Virgin America also won awards in three other categories. These include awards for “Best in Region”, “Best Ground Experience”, and “Best IFE User Interface”. However, Virgin America airlines lost out to the Scandinavian budget carrier Norwegian, which beat the carrier to win “Best In-flight Connectivity and Communications” award with its free in-flight Wi-Fi.

A spokesperson of Virgin America said that the airline was pleased with the recognition that it has been receiving from its customers. The airline has always wanted to reinvent the travel experience and the latest awards have demonstrated the airline’s commitment and high-quality service to its customers.

Scandinavian carrier Norwegian was elated at trouncing Virgin America to bag the “Best In-flight Connectivity and Communications” award.  Lasse Sandaker-Nielsen, a spokesperson for Norwegian, said that the airline is extremely happy that its passengers all around the world consider its connectivity the best.  Currently, the airline’s 60 out of 79 Boeing 737-800 aircrafts are equipped with Wi-Fi. By the end of the winter the airline will be making 14 more aircrafts Wi-Fi-equipped. The airline said that it plans to equip all its aircrafts with Wi-Fi by 2014.
