Virgin Atlantic Airways becomes first British carrier to allow In-Flight Calls

Passengers taking Virgin Atlantic Airways flights will now be able to make in-flight phone calls and also receive them.

Virgin Atlantic Airways recently announced that it has become the first British carrier to provide its customers with a service to make and receive phone calls in the air. The airline said that that service is available on its new Airbus A330-300 aircrafts.

According to the airline, the service is primarily aimed at business travelers, but is available throughout the aircraft in all cabins.
The service is called AeroMobile, and is available for passengers booking Virgin Atlantic Airways flights tickets and having O2 and Vodafone network providers only.

Virgin Atlantic Airways said in a statement that the service “is intended for use in exceptional situations, when passengers need to send an SMS, make a quick call, or access an email on a Blackberry”, and is also limited to six users at one time.
