Virgin Atlantic recently announced the renovation of its Clubhouse at the Newark airport. The clubhouse will remain close from 31st January 2011 until 18th February 2011. During the renovation period the premium passengers will be directed to the SAS lounge.

VS18 will be the last flight on 31st January that will be allowed to access before the temporary closer. After the temporary closer of the club the upper class passengers and the gold card holders will be using the SAS lounge, which is located in Terminal B next to gate 60.

The SAS lounge is equipped with the facility of wifi internet access, and the passengers can enjoy the complimentary wine and beer, and other wide variety of soft drinks available.

The airline has asked an apology from all the passengers for the inconvenience caused during the renovation work and has also promised to provide with the best and improved facilities in the renovated Clubhouse by February.

According the airline management, "This route is very busy most of the year and it has been hard to find a quiet period to close".
