To expand its network in China,
Alitalia Airlines recently signed codeshare agreement with the
China Eastern Airlines.
According to the agreement the two airlines will codeshare flights from 1st June 2011. The flights to Shanghai, which are operated four times a week by China Eastern Airlines, will be given the ‘AZ’ code. On the other hand Chinese Eastern Airlines code could be seen over the Alitalia’s new Rome-Beijing route.
The codeshare agreement will also be applicable on the domestic routes in Italy and China. Alitalia will be operating Airbus A330-200 that will feature its new premium economy product, Classica Plus. China Eastern Airlines is yet to provide the details of the aircraft that will be used for codesharing. The flights timings are yet to be confirmed.
