Emirates Air, the national carrier of UAE, has received the government approval to operate its Airbus A380 aircraft over Dubai-Shanghai route until 29th October 2011. The new aircraft will take its first flight over the route from 27th April 2011. With this Shanghai will become Emirates’ third Chinese destination after Beijing and Hong Kong to be served with A380 superjumbo aircraft.
The new aircraft will operate thrice-a-week between Dubai and Shanghai. The flight will depart from Dubai at 03.10am on Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays and will arrive in Shanghai at 03.30pm. The round trip flight will depart from Shanghai at 11.30pm and will arrive back in Dubai at 04.30am.
In order to serve Shanghai with thrice weekly, the airline will reduce its 14 weekly flight service to 11 from Dubai-Hong Kong route.
At present the carrier operates twice-daily service to Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, and serves operates A380 aircraft to 12 destinations that include London, Manchester, Paris, Toronto, Seoul, Bangkok, Beijing, Jeddah, New York, Hong Kong, Sydney and Auckland.
