The national flagship carrier,
Qatar Airways announced that it will receive the delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in March 2012.
The airline has also announced to discontinue its First Class services on all the aircrafts and thus will configure the 787-8 aircraft into two-plane class.
Akbar Al Baker, CEO, said, "It will have a few amenities that I don’t want to disclose now – but it will be a new concept."
The airline is planning to launch its flight service on new international routes such as Venice, Sofia, Calcutta, Oslo and Montreal as well as 15 others in the next year and also to increase the flight service frequency on the existing routes.
The airline has placed an order of 30 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, in November 2007, which will form the part of its regional and medium-haul fleet.
