Here’s yet another opportunity for the customers to book cheap tickets on Emirates Airlines. Brian LaBelle, Emirates Airlines’ Senior Vice President, recently announced the launch of the airline’s new elite tier ‘Platinum’ under its Skywards frequent flyer program.

The airline’s new elite tier was announced at a ceremony in Dubai. Emirates Airlines had only three rewards tiers in the past. These included Blue, Silver and Gold.

For being eligible for Blue rewards tier, the customers were only required to register themselves for the program. The members of Silver rewards tier were awarded 25,000 bonus miles, while the Gold rewards tier members were able to earn 50,000 bonus miles.

Emirates Airlines in a statement said that the customers would be able to take the advantage of the new elite tier ‘Platinum’ effective from April 1, 2013. Under this tier, the members of Platinum rewards tier program would be awarded over 150,000 bonus miles.

Currently, there are 8.6 million people holding membership of various Skywards frequent flyer programs. Nearly 110,000 are Gold members.
