SWISS begins new nonstop Zurich-Singapore flights

by Richa G 20. May 2013 09:10

Swiss International Air Lines or SWISS recently started its new nonstop flights services between Zurich and Singapore. The airline in a statement said that the customers can now hope to buy air tickets at cheap rates for travel between the two destinations.

According to SWISS, the inaugural eastbound LX178 flights departed from Zurich at 22:45 in the evening of May 12, 2013 to Singapore. This is the airline’s eight new destination in the rapidly growing Asian market. The airline will be operating an Airbus A340-300 aircraft on the new route.

The new Zurich-Singapore route was formally inaugurated in the presence of Harry Hohmeister, CEO of SWISS, and Thomas Kupfer, Switzerland’s ambassador to Singapore.

A top official of SWISS said that the new route is in fact a return for the airline as it previously used to serve Singapore ever since its launch until 2009, though with an intermediate stopover in Bangkok.
