JetBlue follows first checked-in bag free policy

by Richa G 23. July 2013 04:48

JetBlue Airways Corporation popularly known as JetBlue has some good news for its customers. While every other airline is in the lookout to cut costs and pass on the burden to its customers, JetBlue stands out in its own way.

The Long Island City based airline follows a very passenger friendly baggage policy. A lot of airlines these days charge for every bag that is up for check-in. However, at JetBlue you don’t have to pay for the first bag which means it will be checked-in free of cost.

It is a good idea for passengers to book cheap airfares with the budget airline and enjoy the additional reward of carrying their first baggage free. It is just that passengers have to follow certain rules set by the airline.

As per their policy the bag must not exceed 62” (157.5 cm) in overall size (length + width + height) and must not weigh more than 50 pounds (22.73 kilos). None of the boxes on the international flights will be accepted as checked baggage.

The airline also allows its passengers to carry personal items like purse, briefcase or laptop and one carry-on bag. The personal item should fit under the seat and not exceed 18” L (45.72cm) x 15” W (38/1cm) x 8”H (20.32cm).
