by Walter 13. November 2009 15:34
Iberia Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Spain. Based in Madrid is undertaking a major overhaul of its intercontinental Business Plus class, offering business travelers more room, comfort and privacy. The airline is removing an entire row of business class seats in order to expand space between rows by 12 inches - from 60 to 72 inches.

a.. Each passenger will enjoy 86 inches of personal space, with an extra 12 inches now added between rows

b.. The new dimensions allow the seats to reach a fully horizontal position for sleeping

c. The entire A340 fleet will be equipped with the new configuration by the end of February 2010

d.. The changes come within the framework of Iberia's Total Customer Care program, aimed at enhancing customer service across the board

These changes are being made to Iberia's fleet of Airbus A340s, used on routes between Spain and the United States, Latin America, South Africa and Tel Aviv. The number of business class seats in the A340/600s will be reduced from 52 to 42, and in the A340/300s from 42 to 36.
