Leading German carrier Lufthansa will be launching a new Airbus A380 service to its Southeast Asian gateway in Singapore from October 30, 2011. The new daily Frankfurt-Singapore-Frankfurt A380 flight service will replace the current B747-400. However, the new A380 service will not continue to Jakarta, and instead the Munich originating A340-300 will do the tag on.

At present, Lufthansa is operating its A380 services to Frankfurt, Tokyo, Beijing, Johannesburg, New York, San Francisco, and next month to Miami.

Lufthansa in a statement said that the introduction of the A380 service will increase the airline’s capacity at Singapore’s Changi International Airport by 25 percent.

After Singapore Airlines and Qantas, Lufthansa will become the third carrier to operate A380 service to Singapore.
