Gulf Air, the national flag carrier of Bahrain, was recently acknowledged as among the top ten global airlines for the highest on-time performance of its international flights for January 2013.

Gulf Air was also among the prominent carrier to be among the finalists for the 2012 FlightStats On-time Performance Service Awards for the Middle East region.

FlightStats, a leading global flight and information services firm, recently released a list of on-time flight punctuality data of global airlines for January this year. Gulf Air was ranked eighth for its punctuality rate of 85.21 percent. Saudi Arabian Airlines is the only other Middle East airline to have achieved the ninth position in the list.
The awards are given every year to acknowledge the operational excellence in air travel for commercial airlines regionally and globally.

Maher Salman Al Musallam, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air, said that the airline has achieved a significant milestone by having been ranked among top ten global airlines. He said this testifies the commitment of the airline to its customers, particularly on-time performance excellence.
